• Does not guarantee the safety of any user or transaction
• Cannot prevent all fraudulent or dangerous behavior
• Is not responsible for actions taken by other users
• Does not verify the quality, legality, or safety of items being traded
• Cannot guarantee the accuracy of user-provided information

User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for:

• Choosing safe, public meetup locations
• Verifying items before completing transactions
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
• Ensuring items traded are legal and as described
• Their own personal safety during meetups
• Reporting suspicious activity to appropriate authorities

Identity Verification Limitations

Our identity verification requires users to upload a photo of themselves. However, this does not guarantee a user's intentions, behavior, or trustworthiness. Verified status indicates photo verification only, not a character endorsement.

Payment Disclaimer

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. HandOffMeet facilitates payment authorization and capture but is not a bank or financial institution. While we strive to process all transactions fairly, disputes may occur and resolution is at our discretion based on available evidence.

Emergency Services

The panic button feature is designed to assist in emergencies but should not be considered a replacement for contacting emergency services directly. In case of immediate danger, always call your local emergency number (911 in the US) first.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HandOffMeet and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, lost profits, or data loss arising from the use of our platform.

HandOffMeet integrates with third-party services including Stripe for payments and identity verification. We are not responsible for the actions, policies, or reliability of these third-party services.
